This was a complex refurbishment project of an 1960s RC framed structure.
The dated entrance and surrounding buildings to the centre were completely revitalised. Works included demolition of the tired RC canopy structure, re-purposing of the existing mansard RC columns to form a new plant space to the roof, an extension into the rear courtyard and extensive re-cladding works.
The structural design involved carefully picking through old microfiche record drawings, modern ferroscanning surveys and on site investigations to make use of as much of the existing structure as possible.
