About
This project was the first phase of the Old Oak and Park Royal Redevelopment masterplan.
The scheme includes 605 new homes, including 40% affordable properties. It consists of various buildings, separated into three distinct blocks: Block A consisting of 18 and 12 storey towers; Block B consisting of 27, 6 and 12 storey towers; and Block C consisting of 10 and 12 storey towers. The building were predominately residential with retail and office usage on lower floors.
The challenge of this site was in the ground, with a future HS2 logistics tunnel being planned beneath Block B. This required careful consideration of the foundation solution and use of a piled raft in order to limit the loading onto the future tunnel.
AMP Partner, Harvey Mistry, took structural lead of the project and completed the design of Block B.
