About
What a beauty… This project was a labour of love for both architect and engineer, with a shared vision being a key to success on the project.
The heart of this project was in the new roof structure for the vertical extension. This diagrid laminated veneer lumber (LVL) structure required a keen eye for detail for all involved. Harvey designed a composite ribbed ply decking to span the 1.2m between apex’ of the diagrid, minimising roof build-ups as well as utilising hidden timber connections throughout. This detail was in harmony with the architects shadow gap detailing at plasterboard edges creating a structure which was honest to it’s roots with exposed structure throughout.
This new development created 14,000sqft of CAT A office and retail space in a prime location through the extensive internal refurbishments, rear extension and vertical extension.
